Summary
The Golf Course Superintendent manages the day-to-day operations of the golf course, including maintenance, budgeting, and personnel. They also ensure the course is safe for players and meets the needs of members.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
● Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance of the course, including turfgrass, irrigation, and landscaping
● Equipment: Maintain and repair of equipment, materials and vehicles.
● Budgeting: Achieve department goals and capital improvements through development and management of an effective budget.
● Personnel: Manage the current experienced staff of full-time and seasonal employees, including scheduling and training.
● Safety: Monitor weather and climatic conditions to ensure the safety of the players and course.
● Reporting: Report to the Chairman of Golf and Greens and the Country Club Board.
● Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulations, including pesticide and fertilizer use.
● Customer service: Maintain a professional image with members, employees, and the community.
Harrison Country Club was established in 1927. It is an 18 hole, parb70 course, with a length of 4,943 – 6,129 yards. The course is bent grass greens and zoysia/bermuda fairways. Practice facilities include driving range, chipping green, and putting green.
Salary Range : $55,000 - $65,000 salary position

Shadow Valley is a true private country club (opened in 2001) located in the expanding and thriving economies of Northwest Arkansas, particularly Rogers. We consist of an 18-hole championship quality golf course, tennis and pickleball courts, fitness center, parks, and athletic fields. The property stretches across 540 acres, all of which we have parts to maintain. As the Shadow Valley property continues to develop with more residential homes, it paves the way for the golf course to make proper improvements to bunkers, drainage, green and tee complexes, and irrigation updates. Position Description
The Assistant Superintendent reports directly to the Golf Course Superintendent. He or she will assist with scheduling, performing, and supervising all golf course maintenance activities. This includes but is not limited to employee management/supervision, fertilizer/pesticide applications, daily water management, irrigation diagnosis/repair, and communicating with various outside contractors and club personnel.
Education/Experience
Must possess either a two-year certificate, an Associates, or Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Turfgrass management, or 3 plus years of experience in Golf Course Maintenance.
Certificates/Licenses
Must have valid driver’s license and ability to obtain an Arkansas Pesticide Applicators License.
Compensation and Benefits
Hourly position $15-$20 per hour depending on experience
